Hello again!

Hi, friends.

This is sort of a test.  My blog hasn't been showing up on PlanetRock for the last few weeks or months, or something.  So I'm throwing this one on here to see if it shows up.

Also, this way you know that there are a number of blogs posted that you have missed.  They are so way good, you'll barely be able to stand it.

Well, actually there is some good stuff on there.  For anyone who doesn't know, I live in New Orleans right now.  I'm down here for the summer with a bunch of kids from Colorado State University, doing an LT type program, called Infusion.  So my blog has some fun New Orleans stories, and some fun God stories and such.

So read it.

God does cool things.

Here are a couple of random God stories from down here.

Last week, we had a highly respected pastor visiting our group down here and speaking at our meetings.  One afternoon, about twently of us ended up gathering in our large meeting room, which we like to refer to as the "cool room" mainly because it has air conditioning.  Anyway, we were all in there having a Bible study of sorts as this pastor was enlightening us with his thoughts on salvation and losing or not losing salvation, etc.  While we were all in there, someone knocked on the door.  Now, someone knocking on the door doesn't sound that surprising unless you know more details.  This particular door leads to the street, we never use this door, we always go in and out of our "compound" through the gate in our parking lot.  So a knock on the door was rather surprising.  The guy sitting closest to the door, Steve, opens it, and in walks an Hispanic man no one seems to recognize.  He asks if anyone speaks Spanish, he asks this in Spanish of course.  Most of us just stare at him, as he is backing out the door, a girl pipes up "Si" and begins to have some sort of conversation with this man, completely in Spanish, which all of us just sit and stare, having no idea what is going on.  Turns out this guy had walked by our place a few times, he'd heard singing sometimes, and had come to the conclusion that it was a church.  He came in and told this girl, Michelle, that he needed God.  Those were his words, "I need God."  Only in Spanish.  So one of the CSU guys, John, who also speaks Spanish (I think I need to learn Spanish), shared the Gospel with this man, and talked to him for awhile.  I haven't seen him since, but that was quite the event for the day.  Very much a God thing.  Feel free to pray for Manuel if you think of it.

That night a girl that we work with at the "W" came over for dinner.  It was her birthday, so Janet, one of the CSU girls that I also work with (who is also my life group leader) invited her over for dinner and ice cream.  She came, Janet and Ashley got to talking to her about God and what not, they shared the Gospel with her, she already has a relationship with God, but is excited to hang out with us and grow in her relationship more.  She's from Texas, and is going to school in Florida, and is here on an internship.  So you can pray for Danelle also if you think of it.

We've been going out and talking to a lot of random people on the streets downtown and in the French Quarter.  That can be fun, interesting, and encouraging when we're lucky.  Luke and Kristine talked to a guy yesterday.  He told them that they think they are gods.  When they told him they didn't actually believe that, he argued that they were deceived, and they really do think that, they just don't know it.  Then he proceeded to inform them that he is actually an undercover agent who is on a mission to ship all Christians to Utah.  I don't think they got into the Gospel with that guy.

So yeah, that's a few of the stories we have from down south.  People down here seem so friendly and ready to chat about just about anything.  They all have some story of how their life was affected from the hurricane and what it was like when it happened.  And they are pretty much all willing to talk about how this storm has affected their faith.  You might be surprised by how many people down here fully believe that the hurricane was really God's judgment on the city.  One woman even claimed that Katrina means cleansing.

I'm done, this is a long blog, bye guys.
