Important Dates

So, I'm not usually one to make a big deal about birthdays.

But today happens to be the day that I am celebrating 25 years of life on earth.

If you would like to help me celebrate, I am registered at Target.  Just look for me under the baby registry.

They should really create a "Special Occasions" registry for people like me.

Giving Photos a Shot

I am now attempting to add photos into my blog.  In case it doens't work, there are two new photos in my album.  You can see them there.

But here's my attempt.

This is a picture of New Orleans from high above the earth.

OOOO, fun.

And this is a close-up shot of our "Compound"

I feel smart.  You can even click on these to make them bigger and easier to see.  If you find yourself that curious.  Which you should. :)

Hey, this is important

I have a new phone number.  If you want it, comment me, and I'll get it to you.

I won't be offended if you don't ask for it.  Don't worry.

Writer's Block

I want to blog so badly.  I just can't seem to think of anything to blog about.

 Give me a topic.

What do you want to know my thoughts on?

Mommy Wow

So, I have a new job now.  I am no longer a slave of Handicare, Inc.  I am now an office manager.  Way less stressful…at least so far.

I’m working for CramerIT.  The company the guys started a couple of years ago.  So instead of hanging out with a bunch of catty women all day everyday, I spend 8-5 Monday thru Friday with a bunch of geeks.  It’s a change, let me tell you.

But a welcomed change.  I really think I’m going to like it here.  I think this sort of job is what my personality was made for.  Organizing, helping, being friendly, smiling as big as possible at people I don’t know, while they talk about things I can’t even begin to understand.  Yay.

You know what else I love about this job?  Dressing up and wearing clicky shoes, and having a lunch break.  I’m so a grown up now.

Hello again!

Hi, friends.

This is sort of a test.  My blog hasn't been showing up on PlanetRock for the last few weeks or months, or something.  So I'm throwing this one on here to see if it shows up.

Also, this way you know that there are a number of blogs posted that you have missed.  They are so way good, you'll barely be able to stand it.

Well, actually there is some good stuff on there.  For anyone who doesn't know, I live in New Orleans right now.  I'm down here for the summer with a bunch of kids from Colorado State University, doing an LT type program, called Infusion.  So my blog has some fun New Orleans stories, and some fun God stories and such.

So read it.

BTW

I'm done at Handicare...indefinitely.

I didn't cry.  But I was a tad bit sad.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Oh, I see...

I always enjoy finding out pieces of God’s plan for my life.  Especially when they catch me completely by surprise.

So, for the last 6 months, I have been trying to hard to convince God (convince myself that God told me he wanted this) that I should move to Chicago for SALT (a leadership/outreach program with my church).  I was a bit disappointed when that started to seem less and less like God’s plan for my summer.

So I gave up on it, and started to get myself revved up to be a grown up, get a more career-oriented job, and all that jazz.

Then God threw in the curve ball.

It’s now about 95% certain, I am moving to New Orleans for the summer.

My summer plans, have taken a sudden turn.

At this point, I am so excited about this, I can hardly figure out the words to say right now.  I might just stop where I am, before I say something ridiculous.

I leave on May 21.

I like gumbo.

This may be my big chance to work full-time at McDonalds.

Doing Something Productive

In the spirit of doing what all my friends are doing...again...here are some random facts about me.

~ I was once in a television show on public access. I played a girl named Rita who was really bad at Algebra.

~ I can't keep my eyes open when I brush my hair.

~ I have been wearing the same toe ring since my senior year of high school.

~ I was in Girl Scouts until 7th grade. Our code name for it in middle school was "SFG - Scouts For Girls". This was so no one would know we were actually still in Girl Scouts.

~ I know how to change my own oil…I’ve never done it…but I know how.

~ My fingers get cold every time I type.

~ I have become addicted to playing “Madden” even though I suck at it.

~ My grandmother has great-great-grandchildren.

~ I talk to myself a lot, in different accents.

~ I openly admit to this.

~ I don’t separate my lights and darks.

~ I eat more than one French fry at a time, but only ones that are the same length.

~ I love green beans.  I can eat them straight out of the can, without even warming them up.

That’s the best I have for now. Maybe I’ll have a second addition if I come up with more interesting factoids.
